InvestED: Ep. 236- Vitaliy Katsenelson on Budgeting & Success (Part 2)

“I look for happiness in the process of doing things, in the process of creating…and I look at investment as a creative process.” – Vitaliy Katsenelson

In this episode of InvestED, Danielle learns more about how Vitaliy got involved in investing, and how he got to the level of success he’s at now.

At 23 years old, Vitaliy got clarity that he liked finance and investing concepts during an aha moment, realizing that it was something that just clicked with him. Because of this, Vitaliy received an undergraduate as well as a graduate degree in finance, and got his CFA while completing his graduate courses.

For about 7 years after college Vitaliy worked full-time as well as taught at a university. After around three years of teaching though, he grew bored of teaching the same subject every year and felt as though the challenge in his position was declining. It became apparent to him that he would rather teach through writing.

Through writing, Vitaliy discovered that he could teach about different subjects while simultaneously expanding upon his own understandings. With the purpose of sharing his knowledge with the world, Vitaliy features his articles through a free subscription on his website, ContrarianEdge as well as on his podcast show, The Intellectual Investor.
